At Kensington Garden Rooms, we use only the finest materials to manufacture our award-winning, hand-crafted, Canadian western red cedar garden rooms, outdoor kitchens, and other custom outdoor living spaces. With this in mind, we felt it necessary to team up with a world-class provider of outdoor canvas, so that our customers can not only use their garden rooms on a beautiful day, but also on a chilly evening or in the off-season. We want you to be able to close the garden room, turn on the heat lamps and lights, zip the blinds together, and have a beautiful, cozy area to entertain or unwind.

Sunbrella® was our immediate choice. Sunbrella® is a 100% solution-dyed acrylic fabric that not only looks great, but it also will not rot or accumulate mildew like cotton. What’s more, since it is woven and breathable, it keeps cool in all conditions. Outside your home, whether on the deck or next to the pool, their fabrics provide the ideal combination of aesthetics, durability, and weather resistance. No other material has such a great track record of performing beautifully outdoors for years and years. After all, Sunbrella® is the pioneer in performance fabrics and is known for standing up to the heavy-duty demands of marine and awning use. What could be more perfect for your garden room? Here a few more reasons why we have partnered with Sunbrella®.

Eco-Friendly

Like Kensington Garden Rooms, the Sunbrella® team is committed to conducting business in an environmentally responsible manner. They use solar energy to power their manufacturing, thereby reducing CO2 emissions, they are committed to a comprehensive recycling program to eliminate landfill waste, and they reduce wastewater by avoiding harmful dyeing processes. This product truly is built to last, too, so you won’t have to worry about the environmental implications of frequent replacements.

Skin Protection

The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends Sunbrella® fabrics to aid the prevention of skin damage by prolonged exposure to solar radiation. Not only will they block out harmful UV rays, but they will also keep you cool during the summer. Just remember to use sunscreen, too!

GREENGUARD Gold Certification

All Sunbrella® fabrics carry GREENGUARD Gold Certification, which is a strict criteria for chemical emissions recognized by institutions such as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System. It means that this fabric has relatively low volatile organic compound emissions (VOCs) when compared with other products. This means clean, healthy air in your garden room.

10-Year Limited Warranty

The 10-year limited warranty protects the original purchaser of Sunbrella® awning fabric in the event that it becomes unserviceable due to color or strength loss from normal usage and exposure conditions, including sunlight, mildew, and atmospheric chemicals. The limited warranty coverage period is ten years from the date of original installation (five years for specialty fabrics Sunbrella Plus, Supreme and view). Care and Cleaning

One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella fabrics looking good and to delay the need for deep cleaning is to rinse regularly with clear water, helping to prevent dirt from becoming deeply embedded in the fabric.

Sunbrella fabrics can be cleaned while still on your garden room. Simply brush away loose dirt, rinse and clean with a mild, lukewarm soapy solution. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. For detailed cleaning instructions, visit www.sunbrella.com/cleaning.
